A Reflection on Today's Scripture:
What might we be worried about today?
In all the material things we have, how deep are they rooted in and
affect our lives? We should allow these questions to stir our
thoughts at time of prayer. Entering into prayer is entering into the
spirit of Jesus, a time to be with him. This, when done with a pure
heart and mind, will bring peace and vision to our lives no matter
how much turmoil or trial we face. If we do not experience this, we
may be bound to the things of this world more deeper than we think.
Transforming our lives to becoming a better Christian sometimes takes
a lot of letting go of self and material objects. For the most part
this is easier said than done; but one thing we can always know, is
that God is bigger than all of this.
God, whom we seek in our lives each day, sent his only Son, Jesus,
who died and was raised, for our sake. It is he that can do the same
for us. Today Jesus gives us the first step toward his Father,
repentance. When we repent from our sins, it shouldn't just be sorrow
for our sins; it should mean that we are turning away from them. We
should let his grace help us to start to reform our lives, moving in
a different direction, moving closer to Christ himself.
As the confession lines get smaller, one would think we all sin less.
Well is this really true? Why do we waste precious time deceiving
ourselves that we're sinless! We must humbly repent and reform our
lives. Christ will always make his home in a humble heart.
O Jesus,
break my pride today,
that I might fall at your feet
For forgiveness and healing.
Amen
