A Reflection on Today's Scripture:
This commemoration of all the saints is for all the members of our
Church. We celebrate the lives of those people of God who have gone
before us and are recognized by the Church as saints.
Today, The Beatitudes uses the word "blessed" many times in
describing the recipients of the blessing. Aren't we all a little
more excited when we hear this divine favor being bestowed upon us?
How can the poor, the meek the merciful the pure of heart, and even
the persecuted, consider themselves happy? Jesus' words are
challenging us to take a closer look at our lives, to examine our
days at length, not just yesterday or the day before, but weeks and
months ago.
If we follow the will of the Father, if we walk in Christ's
footsteps, if we are filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, we'll
always enjoy God's blessings. We must continue to grow closer to God
in order to know Him better. The Beatitudes remind us that we have a
duty that is rewarded with an eternal blessing in the Kingdom
Everlasting.
May God's Blessings,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit
descend upon you
and remain with you for ever and ever.
Amen!
