A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

Some days, we're truly amazed at the goodness of God! Today is one of
those days when we reflect upon our faith, hope and abundance as we
gather as family, thanking God in the celebration of Thanksgiving Day
here in America. Just as the cleansed man in today's special Gospel
reading wanted so much to be close to Jesus, so do we who love the
Son of God. Jesus didn't allow the man to embark on the boat with
Him, but instead, sent him away to be with his family to give
witness. We too, are all called to give public witness to God's
graces on this day, to share our faith and blessings with relative
and neighbor alike.

The poor in my parish are being fed with a special feast today: 150
turkey dinners will be distributed through the generous donation of
turkeys, potatoes, onions and turnips, with all trimmings. People
tend to be more generous at this time of year, and our food pantry is
overflowing with food, clothes and furnishings. Greetings with the
words of Saint Paul are used to convey our love for "our family." God
the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is so alive today -- even more so
after all the great tragedy that we've experienced throughout
America. Thank you Lord for your untiring love!

               Let us always pray,
Our Father, who art in heaven....
