============ Please Note: Our pro-life pro-family friend, Austin Ruse, has asked us to give President Bush a call today, regarding the un-signing of "CEDAW." Why is it shown that it is through faith that we'll become counted as children of God? Why did Jesus reach out to the lowest person in the estimation of the Jews? It's because we're called to be people of faith; we are called to salvation. We're people who must necessarily acknowledge our own human sinfulness and who have been called to redemption through the saving actions of Christ. Oh, that we might respond to these teachings! That we might humbly learn of our need, and God's instruction to love rather than to give insincere lip service to Him who has given us so much: the very path of salvation. As we move on into a new phase of the Liturgical Year, we're encouraged to study, to learn a great deal more about the teachings of Christ. On this Sunday, let us spend some time to learn the meaning of Jesus' words: "'It is mercy I desire and not sacrifice' I have come to call not the self-righteous, but sinners.'"
