Amanda, did you try calling your local TV station consumer reporter for an expose? How about your local newspaper? Are you still in school? Does your college have a legal services for students area? Don't discount BBB -- they can be a very powerful ally. Be VERY VERY careful about how you say or write. I can't give legal advice, but remember that, while truth usually is a defense to libel and slander suits, if they can show malice -- hard to prove, but hey, they might can afford more and better lawyers than you, and 1. your subject line references "smear" and 2. I quote "I am giving up on the "nice" route... I want EVERYONE to know...rotten... company... how can I do this...with a LOT of attention" -- the truth defense goes bye-bye if they show malice, I think. Also, you don't want to piss them off to the point where they do sue you for libel/slander/tortious interference with a contract/there are tons and tons of things they can slap you with. Even if the court dismisses their suit, you still are on the hook for lawyer fees -- as well as lots and lots of your time -- to get the suit dismissed. Believe me, you don't want to go there. So stick to facts, not hurt feelings, not "I thinks," but like in Dragnet, just the facts, ma'am. You will likely get a better response if you embarrass them rather than pissing them off. You want to make it in their best interests to help you and have them turn out looking like the good guys. 3. When was the last time each of you checked your PC for viruses? I just logged into www.mcafee.com. They are offering a two-week free trial of their McAfee Clinic, which includes their virus scan online program. It was fabulous. So fabulous I bought the service for a year. On sale $29.95, usually $49.95. Easy to use, worked really well. We knew we had been infected the other day by a file someone sent us -- it had infected 72 files!!!!! Yowsa. If the person to whom we forwarded the sick file hadn't scanned his hard drive and told us we infected him, we never would have known until it was too late. So try the www.mcafee.com site, it really worked nicely for me. 4. Geez, what is this, the moon or the hurricanes? Out of lurk mode and into running my mouth. I'm going back into my cave now.
