When working in a vet's office, I learned that this is true, at least with 
the kind of rabies shot we were using...not sure if it is true for ALL 
brands.  The difference is in the tag that you are given by the county.  !!

Nice of them to tell you that, eh?  Most vets will reason that they don't 
like to give a "3 year" because they fear some people will only appear with 
their pets every three years then, opposed to every year which is already 
"too few" times.
