I have my house For Sale by Owner. Last week a man called and wanted to
see about my house. There is an 800 number on the sign to a mortgage
broker who prequalifies all who wish to see house. But my number is
there too. He claims that he cannot reach anybody on the 800 number.
After talking for a few minutes, he asks where my husband is. I am a
widow. He wants to see the house. Called mortgage broker and he could
not get here any time soon, but we decide that I will keep the monster
at my side at all times.

The man comes to the house and asks me to put dog away. I reply that he
will be fine. I show the house. He goes to the broker and said he was
so scared of the dog that he has to to see the house again. I never
told him that the dog really and truly only wanted to be petted and
loved.

Picture this:

This evening a strong wind has come up. I am sitting in the kitchen
reading the Sunday paper when I hear some banging noises. I realize a
window is open upstairs which is causing two doors to bang
intermittently. I just go on back to reading paper. All of a sudden my
harle, Bo, gets up from where he is lying in the dining room, walks into
the kitchen, stands at the alert for a few minutes, then comes close to
me. He gets up again and stands with his head up and then sits down
close to my chair. I look down and he is trembling!!I go upstairs and
close the window, with my brave protective dog following closely as I
climb the stairs. He has never even barked once at what he must have
felt was a bad noise.

So much for my protective alarm system.
