Well, here is another update on "Stray Hawley". The vet called this morning
after he had spoken to the orthopedic surgeon there. The surgeon said that
with a fracture that bad it would probably be best to splint it and just let
it heal that way. It may end up being a little crooked or shorter than the
other one, but it is easier than putting in pins and stuff. So that is way
we are going to go for now. She is stable, but is still throwing up and
they have a splint on her leg - kind of like a soft cast. She is on IV
fluids only, and some anti-vomiting medication so hopefully she will be over
the vomiting soon.

My brother went and visited her this morning and he took her out for a walk.
She kind of hobbles around but is willing to move around. He saw the x-rays
and he said it was really broken, kind of at a downward angle and one of
the fractures goes all the way down to her wrist.

I called the SPCA this morning and gave them my name and number (in case
someone comes looking for her), placed an "Found" ad in the local
newspapers, my brother put up flyers near where we found her and called the
animal control officer for the area where she was hit. Hopefully we will be
able to find her owners. I'm sure they are very worried about her.

Stay tuned for more updates.
