They are not dead.
Check the cuts on the fence..make sure they are fresh cuts...
fresh cuts should be shiny.
I do not feel that they were stolen.
Cover all bases.
Do everything that you can do. And do it FAST / SOON.
Contact area BloodHound owners....see if they will let their dogs
attempt tracking by scent.
Contact 3 Animal Communicators ( i have no idea WHY i am advising this)

Kathy F idea is a good one. I'd do that.....ASAP
De's idea is also something you should try..you never know,
if stolen...they may have been on foot. If they just went out through
that cut....their scent may still be there.
Marge's point is extrememly well taken.....
......consider hiring a Private Detective to find and go to area
fights.
idea: print out and laminate (one side) their photos.....plaster them
all over town.
idea: Make smaller photo/posters ( 4 to a page)
....give a photo to EVERY cop, bus driver, milkman, newspaper boys
idea: Make sure to offer a reward on the handouts
