is encoded as

> -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE-----
> Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux)
>
> iD8DBQFDyWHlMi+gvMn4IFIRAqeRAJ9WYkiycf+hxdQjYw6E+uIMUq3diwCgoaEE
> CQ/plrb/rAjhmsi4iuHY+O4=3D
> =3DZuNY
-----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Note ``=3D'' at the end of the second line of the signature. This leads to

> gpg: CRC error; 66E358 - DC366E
> gpg: quoted printable character in armor - probably a buggy MTA has been used

Note that this also happens when no MTA is involved. This is issue 56.

Would anyone familiar with the new MIME encoder be willing to have a
look at RFC 3156?
