Having a small group of really smart people work on something has proven 
over the years to make worse software instead of better software. I know 
this is counter intuitive, but the numbers don't lie.  (no I don't have 
those numbers online for you, just search sites like IBM and such)

Sure; I agree about that.  My experience lies with Java, having to do C++ 
is just painful nowadays.
But your statement is besides the point.  The point is that using a 
simpler language will make GIT grow faster and gain more traction because 
many more developers are able to get their itch scratched.
Its not about the best tool; its about the tool most people know, and 
which does the job.

If I have to devote myself to it; do you mean I will have a hard time 
switching back to C++ or Java programming?
