I never talked about bugs; I talked about progress. > The fact that Darcs is written > in Haskell, and that not just anyone can program Haskell, gives me a > lot more confidence that the people who write it know what they are > doing. Having a small group of really smart people work on something has proven over the years to make worse software instead of better software. I know this is counter intuitive, but the numbers don't lie. (no I don't have those numbers online for you, just search sites like IBM and such) > I wish more software was written in higher languages (be it > functional, logic, ...). Sure; I agree about that. My experience lies with Java, having to do C++ is just painful nowadays. But your statement is besides the point. The point is that using a simpler language will make GIT grow faster and gain more traction because many more developers are able to get their itch scratched. Its not about the best tool; its about the tool most people know, and which does the job. > > I just can't think in a functional programming language > > If you are a good programmer with clean and 'logic' thinking, i'm > sure you can learn to think in it in a pretty short ammount of time, > given that you devote yourself to it and that you have good learning > material. If I have to devote myself to it; do you mean I will have a hard time switching back to C++ or Java programming? -- Thomas Zander
