I don't think that would be very useful. Perhaps, maybe, the latest
date of any patch affecting a file (regardless of commutation) might
be more useful, but I'm not sure any date would be all that useful.

I agree with Olivier that any such scheme wouldn't be very useful,
particularly if a project accepts outside fix patches.  Not very
representative.  A better approach migh be an "author list" and have
it grab all of the authors that have touched a file (and while you are
at it you could rank them by number of patches and relative patch
sizes...).

Of course, the above two options might be a little ridiculous in terms
of performance, particularly for files with lots of modifications...

The obvious thing to point out here is that you always have your
