Thanks for pointing out why this bug is important.  Revisiting that bug,
I have submitted a test case (by the way, this is really easy to do;
just make a simple shell script and put it in the bugs directory) and
upgraded its priority.

Are there any other bugs in particular you feel we're not taking
seriously enough?  Performance will be the central theme for our next
major release, but this will not stop us from fixing major bugs along
the way.
