As Gaëten suggests, you should try putting the path .bashrc (somewhere
near the top).  I and several darcs users have been in a similar
situation, so please be assured that something like this /can/ be made
to work! :-)

On my personal wishlist is darcs support for Savannah and for
code.google.com.  The Savannah team are actually quite open to
the idea -- they already have git, hg and bzr support -- and
would accept patches for adding darcs support

This might be a good way to help darcs out or (help yourself as the case
