P.S. An important tip to keep in mind when upgrading from darcs-1 to darcs-2 is: do not change the format of any of your repositories. Just upgrade the darcs-1 executables to darcs-2 executables and keep doing everything else exactly like you were doing it.
Then, after you have finished upgrading everyone (who is going to upgrade) to darcs-2, you can consider the separate question of whether you want to change any repository formats.
