I tried this. I unpacked and found this:

Distribution
Setup.lhs
bugs
darcs.cabal
release
src
tests
tools
There is no INSTALL or README file. I did not know what to do next, so I
was stuck. I even tried to read the source of "Setup.lhs" and
"darcs.cabal", but neither contained useful hints in the headers that I
saw.
I'm very interested in alternatives to "make" and would gladly test again as a
non-Haskeller
if an INSTALL file was provided.
