oh, is that so (about the dependency)? I did not realize; does it make a difference to me as a user?

(It's quite likely there's something I don't understand about darcs, since sometime I used 'darcs send' and it put some old draft patches of mine that weren't in the current repo into the "context" of the patch, thus making the patches unusable by upstream.)

Oh yes, somehow I managed to fool myself into thinking that not seeing
the filler patch (the other part of the split) was a problem.

Of course it's not a problem because you can only record one patch at
a time anyway, so you're going to have to choose one or other.

technically, you could instead split those patches and record parts of them. But I guess it would always be easier to only split once(unless you make a mistake)
