clocks start when run starts, so even if you run 5 hours something, it''l count till you finish in velddrif. i think there is an option to do the run over 2 days (which sounds far more reasonable to me)
cycling only, the record is 14 days. tim was going for 12 days this year (but his legs wasn't tired from the run) - but the bad weather might make this impossible, he is already a little off schedule - and with a schedule like his, don't know how much scope there is for catching up. the paddle is the same route as the berg river canoe marathon, they call it the 'onestop berg' - they do it in two days. don't know if there'd be a daylight-paddle-limit on the paddle, might be dangerous to allow the guys to paddle at night. freedom challenge has 3 events: xtc - xtreme triathlon challenge rasa - race accross south africa r2r - the kindergarten event :) only a handfull of guys have completed the xtc. andrew barnes have done it (last year, i think???) and caused quite an uproar on the first few cycling legs this year - outcycling all the cyclists who haven't done the 88 kay trailrun the day before ... don't know where he is now - he started out with an ausie ironman (on honeymoon, i kid you not) there's also a tandem out there, and a freaggin singlespeed - the singlespeed completed rasa 2 years earlier as well - i cycled bits with him (and the tandem), but just couldn't keep up! 2009/6/23 Donald Klopper <[email protected]> > Or was that just the cycle... > > > > Hmmm. > > > > So add 5 hours 20 mins for the run ...
