"One wrong move would have meant that we would end up falling onto the rocks two metres below. I knew the course was going to be technical but riding it was crazy, to say the least. "We did 1000 metres of climbing over a distance of 30 kilometres, which suited Max and me because we were able to make up so much time. We ended up finishing fifth overall and 3 minutes and 30 seconds behind the leaders.
