very good idea Brendan I was thinking the same thing a few weeks ago and therefor got myself the ICE-ID band. See http://www.iceid.co.za/home.php You can run, swim, cycle, paddle & cook with this one. its reflective too. And they delivered in just over a week. It doesnt wear quickly and you can update just the metal plate if your details would change.
