Hello all,

As an option for Windows users on Windows 10, darktable can be run,
efficiency aside, through installing the Linux Subsystem and running an X11
server. I was able to import and edit jpgs that I have on this machine with
a pretty good response time. I will test with a RAW file when I have access
to my library.

I used VcXsrv as the X11 server.

To get it to run, first you have to set the display and have X11 running.

export DISPLAY=:0

Then the typical apt-get install of darktable runs on Windows through the
Linux Subsystem, GUI and all. I'll test functionality later when I'm near
my image library.

Thanks,
Ian Goegebuer
