Unfortunately, as I discovered in the manual (
https://darktable.gitlab.io/doc/en/geotagging.html), geotagging in dt
doesn't work this way, with a gpx file containing the coordinates of one
fixed point: dt needs a gpx file recorded by a GPS receiver during the
photo session, with coordinates as well as timestamps, looks in it for the
position at or near the same time as the one recorded in the picture exif
data and uses that position to geotag the image.
So is there any other method to geotag images on export ?
not on export.
But you can also drag and drop the images to the map in the Map View
In order to assign geo coordinates to an image, activate the filmstrip
<https://darktable-org.github.io/dtdocs/en/module-reference/utility-modules/shared/filmstrip/>
on the lower panel (press Ctrl+F). You can assign a geo location to an image by
dragging the image icon from the film-strip and positioning it on the map – darktable
will record the new location (latitude and longitude ) as part of the image metadata.
This data will be included in exported images.
