I'm not an expert on this, but I will try it (was my first experience with
this)
We did several test, in a group of 12 people, 11 were using Ps and... well,
I was using Darktable :/
First each one of us render our images and gave them to the print-guy who
opened with Ps and print them. that first result gave me a better result
with black (which in my case was more equal and the Ps show more like a lot
of paint drop over the paper). I could say that the greyscale was much
better with my jpg render.
A bit later, more curious, I ask him to print it directly from the image
browser and not open it with Ps. Same good result. Then, after a lot of
try, we connect the printer to my laptop (running F17) and the result over
cotton paper was amazing.
> How did you export?
Simply using lightable using for different cases 8bit-jpg and 8/16bit-tiff

First time through the Mac and Ps, second through the Mac but with a simple
image viewer, third time, from my laptop, once the image was exported
(since Darktable doesn't have a print option that I saw)

Epson 11880

No idea, but I would be happy to ask.

Yeap, but ink had a couple of weeks. As I could know, ink lose color or
strength with time.
