Darktable does not have multiple highlight/selects at all... If you use lighttable mode with only one image visible, and you use the keypad to navigate it does not mean the current visible image is selected. > maybe it is easy solved by making the viewed picture in lighttable the > seleced one when in 1up view and getting rid of one of the highlight modus.
