Hi,
I have some change pending, to include the keyword module into the collect one. It should be ready to be merged in 1 or 2 days. Is it ok ?

Hello everyone,

as you might have heard we are thinking about doing the next minor release
(1.4) in the not so distant future. In order to get things rolling we would
like to announce a feature freeze and concentrate on fixing bugs for some time.

Since we don't want to annoy anyone working on new stuff I hereby would like to
ask all the people out there hacking on darktable if there are

- any cool new features living in branches that should be merged or PR'ed?
- any cool new features living on people's local disks waiting to be merged?

If these are ready or almost there please let us know NOW so we can wait for a
few more days, otherwise we will freeze without you so you would have to wait
for another release.

That being said let me give a short outlook what the general release plan
looks like:

- announce feature freeze as soon as possible
- announce string freeze around 23rd of November
- get a first release candidate out December 1st
- maybe a second RC mid December
- have 1.4 as our Christmas present

However, all of that is just the general idea, it heavily depends on how many
bugs we encounter and general availability of developers, real life, planet
alignments and all the usual stuff.

A word towards our translators: feature freeze on 23rd and RC1 on 1st looks
like a really short timespan, however we would allow incomplete translations
in the RCs as they are mainly meant to get bugs spotted and fixed, the final
translations have to be ready for the release which gives you one month of
time. That release however will exclude translations lacking the quality we
want to provide. Of course you can already start fixing your .po files now and
only take care of the few changed strings later.

That's all for now, end of transmission. Let's make Christmas rock so your
family pictures from boxing day and the aunties drinking egg nog will be even
better than last year's.

Tobias

PS: Everyone not celebrating Christmas is free to celebrate the darktable
release instead. With egg nog. And great photos.
