Well, 12.2 isn't much younger than 12.1, and up to now I've not had any 
problems with versions up to 1.2.3 (neither with any other project I 
compiled myself with it). So my guess is that the reason might be 
something else.

On the other hand, I won't need 1.4 (as far as I can see from the 
announcements), so if it doesn't run on my system, who cares? Just 
wanted to help.
