Ok, I found an old discussion about possible mismatch from Canon EOS Mark II
and Canon EOS Mark III.

Well, if this is working in most cases isn't it better to have it working in one
click for the vast majority of users and require manual adjustment for
others?

Do we have evidence that this will do more harm than good?
