Nice to know. Hopefully this behaviour will change. Title field and
description
are used to two different things. Before I export images to Flickr I have to
remove the duplicate description information in Digikam from the jpg files,
because it will look strange on the web.
An improved handling of metadata will be welcomed. This is something Digikam
do very well. Lightroom also do this very well.

Hi!
Hi.
When I export files to jpg the title exif field is also written to the
description field. The description
field is empty and should stay empty on the export. Error?
The exif description field is set to title on purpose (I can't remember the
reasoning though), however something else seems to be strange: Some of the
fields are of type rdf:Bag, some rdf:Seq, and others rdf:Alt. I have no idea
what libexiv2 is doing there. I guess it's about time to start the metadata
overhaul for real. Probably after LGM where I would like to discuss how it
should be done in the future with the others.

PS: Note that the XMP fields are set as you would expect them to be, it's just
the exif one that is debatable.
