Hi all
I'm new to darktable having started using it this January when I got myself
my first digital SLR to replace my old film SLR. I'm loving using darktable
and expect it will be my standard photo development software.
My current workflow is to dump all my images from the camera into folders
by date, then import into darktable where I can delete the rubbish and move
the good ones into their own sub-folders in logical groupings. At a later
date I will come back and start work on a specific group.
When dumping images I could easily have 200+ photos to categorise into
subfolders. The current darktable move function creates a new film roll and
then leaves me there, which is fine for immediately working on the moved
photos, but for my wrkflow is not ideal. I have to keep navigating back to
the original collection to continue my categorisation. I have not been
using dt long so I accept I may have missed something, and may not be doing
it the 'darktable way'.
Anyway, I've been fiddling with the code, and although I am by no means an
expert programmer, I have something that appears to work the way I want. My
change adds a checkbox to the move/copy dialog box so that the user can
choose whether to return to the original collection.
So my question is: is this the kind of change that would be well recieved?
If so, I will log a feature request and submit a pull request once I've
done a bit more testing.
Thanks
Duncan
