Thnx for info. AFAIK, that approach is supported by CompIcc as well.
Although it requires some coding effort.

Sure.  I understand oyranos stuff may not become mainstream in a near
future or ever. I do not have any personal preference re. the technical
solution, I just see a problem exist and would like to have it
solved ;-)

Yep, as long as I use dt things are okay - thanks for the greyish GUI!

For other apps or colour non-critical work I just have to fiddle either
with monitor mode (native gamut vs sRGB emulation) and with the assigned
profile (colord) OR to stick to AdobeRGB emulation (which does not
displays full colors so aggressively) OR to turn CompIcc on (and get
used to Compiz WM).

Thanks for answer, I hope some easier solution will arrive to our
desktops eventually.
