Thank you anyway for the support. Running the X11 build should be fine and I'll 
try adjusting the DPI settings to improve the UI size.

Still I have to solve a nasty problem with the git-master build: after 
quitting and starting again darktable I get a segmentation fault, which at the 
moment I can solve only by deleting the library.db file. I suspect there's 
something wrong with the database, but I still cannot isolate the problem. I 
might come back later on this.
