Tobias;    That's it!! .....

The display profile was set as 'system display profile' .... as soon as I 
changed it to sRGB the Under indicator appeared.

I still think that the Split-Toning thing is weird but anyway thanks for 
finding the problem. I have no idea when that setting changed ... I have only 
noticed the problem fairly recently.
