I found a Fedora 23 src.rpm for exiv2-0.25 (dated 21 Jun), and had a snoop
through that.
It appears that the pentaxmn.cpp has been updated to include the K-3ii,
and also now includes data for some sigma lenses which I have only been
able to properly support via a locally patched and built version of
exiv2-0.24.
Trouble is my build of exiv2-0.25 won't install on Fedora 21, as it breaks
binary compatibility with some other installed packages...and using the
pentaxmn.cpp in exiv2-0.24 src doesn't solve the problem. It builds and
installs OK but the lens is still not identified.
I'm now looking into what is needed to do local builds of those other
packages (after their removal and installation of exiv2-0.25)...but as
with this approach to solving the problem it can be a tangled web.
Thanks for your help.

Cheers,

Terry Duell
