Because there isn't just one proper sRGB that could be expected to be used when the image is merely tagged but there are half a dozen versions of sRGB profiles out there. So adding the precise profile is the only sane thing to do. In your screenshot it seems that all ICC based colors are wrong (I assume that "sRGB JPEG" is not having an embedded profile?) so that is either a bug in your "old" version of Firefox or a configuration issue in Firefox.
