Nice - glad to hear that the main RAW support is in, that's mostly what I
care about -
True.
But for us it would be better to support these too, since they
*should* just work.
Indeed - they *should* for a novice it is all "RAW".
I'm a little hard-put to envision a great scenario for using
mRAW or sRAW.
And you would be right :)
Agree - but there are a few tutorials pointing to mRAW and sRAW and I
did start with these
However, I did find the profiled denoise capability great
with my 5D Mark II, so I'd love to see that supported here also... I don't
know if I'll have time this weekend, but I'll see if I can give the process
you linked to a shot some time soon...
One question --- that process seems to involve running darktable itself to
extract the data to generate the pre-sets... does that mean I need to get
the GIT master version of darktable up and running? If so, would you be
interested in me just taking the requisite images and sending them to you?
I don't know when I'll have time to try to get the GIT version running...
You would need to export raws, so yes, darktable needs to support that camera.
You could just take the shots, upload them somewhere (with no time limit),
and just put up a link at
https://redmine.darktable.org/projects/darktable/issues/new
All the best,
Warren
Roman.
Regards,
B.

A bit late to the party here... but I also have a 5D Mark IV and would

to get it supported...
Nice :)
The base support for normal full RAW files (both the usual ones, and
dual-pixel) is in git master already.
The dual-pixel currently brings no benefits, the second sub-image is
silently discarded. For now?
What missing is:
1) mRAW, sRAW is not supported.
I need samples - please do enable extended iso range for this in
camera, set format to mRaw,
disable dual-pixel, and take one picture per EVERY iso level,
including EVERY 1/3 stops!
That is, iso 50, iso 100, iso 125, iso 160, iso 200, ...
Same for sRaw.
The content does not matter, just take a picture of anything, landscape
will do.
2) No noise profile.
https://www.darktable.org/2012/12/profiling-sensor-and-photon-noise/
^ that *should* explain which pictures are needed.
I personally never done that, so i will be of little help.
Do you ever get any of the images you need?
So far i only got the full RAW images. I need sRAW and mRAW.
In
terms of over-exposed highlights - what's the best way to ensure that?
If
I just look at the histogram on camera and see some bunching up on the
right
side is it enough?
Does not matter, just make sure that lens/body cap is NOT on :)
I have access to a web server, so I can drop the files in a big zip
there if
that works for you...
Yep.
All the best,
Warren
Roman.

Thanks Roman.
Looks like you'll need quite a few images. I work on them and see
if I
can
get them to you this weekend. What is the best way to provide you
with
the
full resolution RAW images?
Dropbox? Google Drive?
BTW i should point out that we will need some a color matrix from
Adobe DNG Converter,
so mk4 will not be officially supported out-of-the box in dt until
update of that software is released..

Hi There,
Hi.
As an early adopter of new technology I just found out that the
Mark
IV
is
currently not supported.
Awesome :)
(Not the "currently not supported" part :) )
I'd like to assist with correcting these issues if
possible, although not technical, I'd love to provide you with
images
that
will help with making the latest and greatest camera out there
work
with
your awesome software.
Yes, perfect!
I need following samples:
To check white levels (for darktable):
- take a picture at every single ISO, in the simple raw raw mode
(not dual-pixel).
- every picture should have some overexposed highlights.
- every single ISO means including ALL 1/3 and 1/2 stops. (!)
To check crop area (for darktable):
- a fully clipped sample at ISO 100, 30s, fully open aperture.
(This is the same as
http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=17695.msg171963#msg171963)
Being very new to this group, I'm not sure where to start. Who
can I
work
with to assist the Dev team to make this happen?
Thanks,
Paul
Roman.
