I use $(YEAR)$(MONTH)$(DAY)_$(SEQUENCE).$(FILE_EXTENSION) that can be pre-set in the dt preferences under the 'session options' ... this works with me as I only use a single camera, I set the sub-directory naming pattern as $(YEAR)$(MONTH)$(DAY)_$(JOBCODE) ... the jobcode provides me with some sort of intelligent reference to the day's activity.
