If you are running on Linux a simple bash script will do it, I could
send you an example if it helps

Hello,
You might use some command line instructions to rename both raw and xmp files
from within their (sub)folders, then erase from the library and finally
re-import..

How should I rename a whole bunch of images from:
text-yyyymmdd9999.raf to text-yyyymmdd-9999.raf
Is there a better way than: select > remove > rename in thunar the
rafs and the xmps and reimport?
For the time being that's your best bet. Someone suggested to start writing
some renaming tool for dt, but that's something for the distant future. Just
make sure to rename the XMP files accordingly.
Tobias
better delete/remove subject images from your library rather than
destroying your entire collection of photos.
