I am using same OS and DT version. I experienced something similar: I could not reuse the previously detected camera entry after reconnecting the cable. I had to click on "scan for devices" again which would add a new entry of the same camera to the list which was then usable. When disconnecting/connecting often this makes for a rather long list but at least it works. ;-)
