I assume by "PC" you refer to darktable v2.4.0 for "windows" ???

if you downloaded from "https://www.darktable.org/install/#windows";, I
would say your antivirus is wrong, but I don't know what "   IDP.Generic
" virus is.  I guess you will have to make a decision.  Other people are
using dt successfully,

was there a file signature or checksum included?  did you check it?
