have you tried darix' builds from osc:
  
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/darix:/darktable:/master/Fedora_27/

I have been using them on openSUSE Tumbleweed for quite some time w/o a
problem.  and he is always around and quick to solve any problem.
