If I understand this correctly, the matching will still be done for the above line. The only thing that the lang line does is change the display name of the matched lens for given locale... > <model lang="en">Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG OS</model> The only way to have a lens alias for an optically identical one is to duplicate the entire <lens> element and then change the <model> in it.
