No idea how to do this, but keep in mind that you can't (afaik) remove just a 
single module from the history (edit) stack, unless it's the top-most in the 
stack. Any attempt to remove a module will also remove all modules used after 
that one (remove, not just deactivate!). 

There is perhaps one exception: if you have duplicates a module, you can 
delete the duplicates without pruning the stack.

A trick to get a specific module to the top of the history stack: (de-)activate 
it.
