The most flexible tool to do this on Linux is your shell.

What you need:

  * A tool to extract the information you want to use for renaming.
    To use EXIF data, maybe use [1], but there are many tools
    available.

  * Basic shell understanding.

The first part is quite easy and specializes your capabilities for
this very task.  The second is a little more effort, but will benefit
you a lifetime.

Everyone should know how to use this ultra-flexible framework known as
Unix/Linux shell, instead of just jumping at partial solutions for
very specific problems just because they have a GUI.  GUI tools make
one specific task very easy, but make everything impossible the
authors have not thought of.
