Then you should see error messages when going with '-d opencl' and effectively there would be something really wrong.

Is there any indication of tiling? If GPU memory is too tight to process the image in one go darktable will run the module tile wise. This is also quite expensive in terms of performance but I doubt that this explains the numbers reported here.

Are these modules extensively using drawn masks (e.g. the brush)? The module names indicate something like that. Shape rendering in drawn masks is slow and does not profit from the GPU.
