Hi, Axel,

just to consider: "unsharp" in the meaning of "no high spatial frequencies at all" or also in the meaning "focus not exactly on the plane it should be"? The first condition could be met be using some spectral analysis, but for the second one you'd need to teach an AI what's interesting for you in those pictures (which is probably more work than to sort out the unfit pictures manually til the end of your days).. But also the first approach would be tricky to use (distinguish noise from contours, ...). That said I do not know of an implementation of such techniques in DT, but would propose it along those lines.

BTW: I am used to eliminate technically imperfect images on the camera. For that works well enough.

Sincerely
Uwe.

Quoting "Dr. A. Krebs" <[email protected]>:

Hi:

often I take pics under available light/weak light conditions.

Within a picture series, I often catch single sharp pics, but I need to sort out unsharp pictures. If possible, automatically!!

My question:

- does anybody knows a methodology to cope with this?
- does darktable provide a way to find unsharp pictures, in ideal automatically??

I know, that there are algorithms to cope this problem.

Hope for any help-
