Hello, I am quite new to raw processing with darktable. My primary purpose is to "scan" negative films with dslr, invert them, and then do some post processing. This is just a hobby, so I don't expect stunning results at start, I just need something to begin with.
I can achieve pretty good results with new films shot by myself with just a few clicks. But I am completely lost when I am trying to revie my father's 40+ year old negatives. I do the same basic steps what I do with my new films (i.e. white balance the film base on the right side, do an invert with picker choosing the now white stripe on the right, and then I there I am with a dull image seemingly lacking color and contrast, etc. I would be very grateful, if you could help me out getting started, i.e provide me with a basic, repeatable set of steps which would bring me to a somewhat better image.
