Hi,

since update to 3.2.1 from 3.0.2 I’m experiencing following problems:

My existing preview cache is not used. After some experimenting (deleted a
cache file and let recreate it) I found, that now cache files of size „5“ are
required for my display settings (3 images in row on a MacBook Pro Retina 13’’,
2560 x 1600). For me that’s a big problem. I have about 70000 images on two
external disks of 5TB each. With this amount of images the preview cache
becomes much too large for my notebook, if cache files of size „5“ are
required. If I look at sizes of cached images, size „3“ would be fully
sufficient for 3 images in row. BTW darktable 3.0.2 used cache file size „4“
for this setup, which was ok too.

Next problem is, that preview images are looking really awful. The preview
images look like scaled without any interpolation, just like by leaving rows
and columns completely out.

I hope, that these are issues, which can be fixed by some kind of
configuration.

Best regards
Andreas Herold
