Hiunfortunately the workaround is not applicable for me as I am not using "basic adjustments". But thanks a lot anyway. I will continue to look for common edits when the problem occurs.

For some of my images I get a partially or even completely black thumbnail in lighttable view after editing the images. Deactivating the edits I made does not bring back the thumbnail. Nor does a 'darktable-generate-cache' from command line restore the thumbnail. Decreasing the zoom level in lighttable view from 4 to 3 restores the thumbnail. Increasing it again to 4 or more images per row shows again the corrupted thumbnail. Can anybody point me into the right direction to address the issue?
