Dear darktable developers and friends:
I am running LINUX (UBUNTU 20.04 LTS) and I'm really happy not to be
spied out systematically by windows & Co :-( !
Some thoughts of mine.
I assume, this will not control your intentions as you speak about
missing man-power. For me, however, it is not only a question of windows
or not; it is one way to stay free from commercial interests. At least a
little bit. Maybe it could be useful to rethink the role of darktable in
the fotocommunity? Maybe re-discuss in <https://discuss.pixls.us/> and
others?
The request for manual writers for darktable recently nearly made me
contributing. The obstacles (formalisms) for sound a little bit too
strong. Maybe standardized contributions?
Was there a questionnaire, which modules are important to users?
I fear, my words may not help immediately. Maybe there is a way to
resolve the knot?
Hopefully,
Axel

Looking forward to the 3.6 release with the proviso that darktable
will stay available on the Windows platform. Could you please be more
precise than just writing that you "decided to keep Windows for now"?
Sure, the plan is clear, if there is more Windows users we will keep
Windows and drop Linux and the reverse otherwise. We don't have the man
power for more than one port actually.
Regards,
