Thanks jo for your answer!

Because I have not a good background about image processing, can I 
simplify with some practical case?

Here what I understand:
- if I shot exposing right, exposure plugin is the best to use
- if I have an underexposed image, better way is to use levels or other 
plugins in Lab

Do you think is a wrong semplification?
Meanwhile i will continue to study  :)
